As I wrote about in the previous blog post, Atlas Shrugged and, subsequently, all of the other works that Ayn Rand produced have changed my life.

I decided to call my new business “American Wordsmith” because I realized that all day, every day, I was spending with American English words in a variety of forms: reading them, writing them, fixing them.

2026 1 January: Merged two businesses into one, all under Kaitlyn Bankson.

The books that are the most sacred to me are as follows: Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo, and Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. Of course, there are many other pieces of work that I love, but these speak to my soul.

Many of these topics concern the Left’s tribalistic love affair with topics like racism, feminism, and Marxism. Sally Rooney openly declares herself to be a Marxist, and it seems like that opened the doors to her publishing career.

Not only is the writing immature in certain ways, but the characters from the beginning are immature.

However, I find that the only way to enhance one’s view of life is to romanticize it. Thanks to Ayn Rand, I now have a philosophical framework by which to live—Objectivism.

Books became my way of searching for the “why” to life.
